  • Resumen
    • History of mathematics is considered a motivating tool with many advantages in its application to mathematics teaching. Despite this fact, its use is not extended in the classrooms of different levels. This paper presents a case study on the inclusion of explicit content about history of mathematics in Mathematics textbooks of the first and second years of Compulsory Secondary Education. To carry it out, it has been made a descriptive analysis of textbooks of the publishing house Edelvives. The technique applied is content analysis. The results show the little relevance that history of mathematics has in these textbooks. Independently of the year, it usually appears briefly as something complementary and in many occasions, these books only include exercises that aim to search for information about it.
