      El año 2021 nos ha traído varias novedades en los productos que se utilizan para evaluar la calidad de las revistas académicas y por transitividad la producción científica de los investigadores porque se continúa dando un gran peso de las métricas de revistas frente a las métricas basadas en los artículos. Hay muchas voces a nivel internacional que piden un cambio en este sentido y que reclaman alejarse de los índices de impacto. Sin embargo, la realidad es que todavía seguimos muy vinculados a este tipo de indicadores. Desde la revista Education in the Knowledge Society (EKS) apoyamos y nos sumamos a cualquier iniciativa seria que avance en una mejor y más justa evaluación de la producción de los investigadores. En este sentido nuestra estrategia se orienta en dos direcciones. En primer lugar, seguiremos trabajando para que la revista esté posicionada en las principales bases con reconocimiento internacional, cuidando los procesos de revisión por pares para garantizar la calidad de los trabajos aceptados. Por otro lado, difundiremos los artículos publicados para que sean más visibles y haremos todo lo posible porque sus datos de citación sean claros porque hemos detectado que la calidad formal de las citas influye claramente en que se puedan atribuir las citas recibidas a las métricas a nivel de artículo. En lo que respecta a EKS, en 2021 se cerró el volumen 22 con 26 artículos publicados. En el contexto internacional se consiguió el primer índice SJR (Scopus) correspondiente al año 2020 (Q3) y en CiteScore (Scopus) la revista pasó de un percentil 27 (Q3) en la edición de 2019 a un percentil 81 (Q1) en la edición de 2020. Por su parte en Web of Science, con la publicación del nuevo Journal Citation Indicator (JCI) dentro del Journal Citation Reports (JCR), EKS está ubicada en un segundo cuartil (Q2) en los cuatro años para los que se ha calculado este indicador (2017-2020). En el listado de las 100 revistas en español de Google Scholar, la revista aparece en la posición 46. Por último, en el panorama nacional, EKS ha conseguido en 2021 el Sello de Calidad Editorial y Científica FECYT, y en el ranking de Revistas de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales con sello FECYT ocupa un segundo cuartil. En Dialnet Métricas EKS aparece clasificada en el primer cuartil. El contenido de este artículo se encuentra tanto en español como en inglés.

      The year 2021 has brought several novelties in the products used to evaluate the quality of academic journals and, by transitivity, the scientific production of researchers because a great weight continues to be given to journal metrics as opposed to metrics based on articles. There are many voices at the international level calling for a change in this regard and demanding a move away from impact indices. However, the reality is that we are still very much tied to this type of indicator. From the journal Education in the Knowledge Society (EKS), we support and join any serious initiative that advances in a better and fairer evaluation of the production of researchers. In this sense, our strategy is oriented in two directions. First, we will continue working to ensure that the journal is positioned in the primary databases with international recognition, taking care of the peer review processes to guarantee the quality of the accepted papers. On the other hand, we will disseminate the published articles more visible. We will do everything possible to make their citation data clear because we have detected that the formal quality of the citations influences whether the citations received can be attributed to article-level metrics. As far as EKS is concerned, in 2021, volume 22 was closed with 26 published articles. In the international context, the first SJR index (Scopus) corresponding to 2020 (Q3) was achieved and in CiteScore (Scopus), the journal went from a 27th percentile (Q3) in the 2019 edition to an 81st percentile (Q1) in the 2020 edition. For its part in Web of Science, with the publication of the new Journal Citation Indicator (JCI) in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), EKS is located in a second quartile (Q2) in the four years for which this indicator has been calculated (2017-2020). In the list of the 100 journals in Spanish in Google Scholar, the journal appears in position 46. Finally, in the national panorama, EKS has obtained in 2021 the FECYT Seal of Editorial and Scientific Quality, and in the ranking of Humanities and Social Sciences Journals with FECYT seal, it occupies a second quartile.
