    La interpretación y construcción de gráficos estadísticos forma parte de la cultura que un ciudadano bien informado ha de tener para enfrentarse críticamente a la sociedad de la información. En este trabajo sintetizamos la investigación relacionada con estas competencias, que no siempre se alcanzan y finalizamos con algunas recomendaciones didácticas para mejorar la cultura estadística de nuestros estudiantes.

    A interpretação e construção de gráficos estatísticos forma parte da cultura que um cidadão bem informado tem que ter para enfrentar criticamente a sociedade da informação. Neste trabalho sintetizamos a pesquisa relacionada com estas competências, que nem sempre se alcançam e finalizamos com algumas recomendações didáticas para melhorar a cultura estatística dos nossos estudantes.

    Interpreting and building statistical graphs is part of the statistical literacy that a well informed citizen needs to critically face the information society. In this paper we make a synthesis of main research related to this competence, which are not always achieved. We finish with some didactic recommendations directed to improve the students’ statistical literacy.
