Resumen de Aproximación a un posible uso de ChatGPT para nivelar la expresión escrita en ELE

  • Artificial intelligence, especially ChatGPT, is being applied in education. In this study, wewill focus on the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. Analysing the use of ChatGPT to level thewritten expression texts of Spanish learners. Using the Corpus de Aprendices de Aprendices de Españolcomo Lengua Extranjera (CAES) of the University of Santiago de Compostela, funded by the InstitutoCervantes, texts of learners with reveals of the different levels of the Common European Frameworkof Reference for Languages are analysed. The analysis of the corpus is carried out with the CommonLanguage Resources and Technology Infrastructure tool, Voyant Tools, which reveals, for example, thedifferences in the use of conjunctions and the complexity of sentences between levels. ChatGPT wasevaluated with different prompts: descriptive, sample texts and combinations of both, to determine themost appropriate one. The results indicate that ChatGPT is able to recognize and adequately level learners’texts, highlighting its potential as a tool in language teaching.
