Tecnologias digitais e modelagem matemática: interlocuções e possibilidades

    The article presents the results of an investigation regarding implications of using digital technologies in the configuration of mathematical modelling activities. The theoretical framework refers to digital technology and its relationship with modelling. Modelling activities carried out by students in two educational contexts are analyzed. The analytical movement is descriptive and interpretative in nature and follows the assumptions of qualitative research. Considering Vince Geiger's metaphors on the use of technology in mathematics s, two distinct uses are identified. In one activity, technology act as a partner and the students' actions depend on the use of technological tools. In the other, they incorporate technological knowledge as an extended part of their mathematical repertoire, with technology being integrated into the development of the activity in such a way that it only became possible through this integration.

    O artigo apresenta resultados de uma investigação relativa a implicações do uso de tecnologias digitais na configuração de atividades de modelagem matemática. O quadro teórico é referente à tecnologia digital e sua relação com a modelagem. Atividades de modelagem realizadas por estudantes em dois contextos educacionais são analisadas. O movimento analítico tem natureza descritiva e interpretativa, seguindo pressupostos da pesquisa qualitativa. Considerando as metáforas de Vince Geiger relativas à tecnologia na matemática, dois usos distintos são identificados. Em uma atividade a tecnologia atua como parceira e as ações dos estudantes dependem do uso de ferramentas tecnológicas. Na outra eles incorporam o conhecimento tecnológico como parte estendida de seu repertório matemático, sendo a tecnologia integrada ao desenvolvimento da atividade de tal forma que ele só se torna possível mediante essa integração.
