Desarrollando sentido de agencia en la formación inicial de profesores de estadística

    Se estudió el desarrollo del sentido de agencia en profesores de estadística en formación al participar en un curso diseñado en una perspectiva socio-crítica. Los participantes fueron diez profesores en formación matriculados en un seminario de Didáctica de la Estadística en un programa profesional de Educación Matemática de una universidad pública en el noroeste colombiano. Las fuentes de información fueron las discusiones de los participantes en el seminario mientras trabajaban en investigaciones estadísticas y escritos narrativos de los profesores en formación. Los resultados revelan que el sentido de agencia se evidenció en los participantes al asumir la estadística como una ciencia no neutral, al reconocerse como protagonistas de la historia y al emprender acciones transformativas.

    The development of the sense of agency was studied in prospective statistics teachers when participating in a course designed from a socio-critical perspective. The participants were ten prospective teachers enrolled in a seminar on Methods for Teaching Statistics within a Mathematical Education professional program at a public university located in the north westernof Colombia. The sources of information were the discussions of the seminar participants while working on the statistical investigations and narrative writings of the prospective teachers. The results reveal that the sense of agency was evident in the participants by assuming statistics as a non-neutral science, by recognizing themselves as protagonists of history and by undertaking transformative actions.
