Creation and Continuation of Patterns by Two 6-7 Year-Old Students in Sequences TasksWe present a case study using semi-structured interviews to describe pattern creation and continuation of qualitative series realized by two 6-7 years old students. We describe these students’ responses to ten tasks which involve logical patterns design following three criteria: (a) attributes, (b) number of elements in the kernel, and (c) variation of attributes between elements. Results evidence that the students create different kinds of patterns and continue different kinds of series (reiterative and no reiterative), with different number of elements in the kernel.
