Resumen de Siete personajes en busca de un remake: de Kurosawa a Fuqua, pasando por Sturges

  La presente investigación trata de analizar la obra de Los siete samuráis de Kurosawa (1956), el remake de Sturges (Los siete magnificos, 1960) y la versión de Fuqua del 2016. A pesar de que existen más películas basadas en el film japonés, estas dos obras fueron objeto de estudio por considerar que marcan un antes y un después en la manera de realizar adaptaciones contextualizadas a un país occidental y a un momento histórico y social determinado. La metodología cualitativa indaga sobre aquellos aspectos que las caracterizan y diferencian como su producción, trama o los personajes, los cuales son descritos y analizados desde un punto de vista crítico-discursivo cinematográficamente. Los resultados muestran diferencias según la película, encontrando diversos patrones en la manera de realizar el film a pesar de contar la misma historia. Se concluye que tanto la película original como ambos remakes reflejan diferencias en la composición fílmica en función del estilo del director, del contexto cultural y de la simbología empleada, entre otros aspectos.

  The current investigation tries to analyze the play of The seven samurais of Kurosawa (1956), the remake of Sturges (1960) and the Fuqua's version of 2016. Nevertheless, there are more films based on the Japanese film, these two works were studied because they are considered the most relevant in the way of making contextualized adaptations in an occidental country and a determined historical and social moment. The qualitative methodology looks into those aspects that characterize and distinguish like their production, script or characters, which are described and analyzed from a cinematographic critical-discursive point of view. The results show differences according to the film, finding different patterns in the way of making the film despite of telling the same story. It is concluded that the original film and both remakes reflect differences in film composition in regards of the director's style, the cultural context and the symbology used, among other aspects.
