  • This issue of Teaching Mathematics and its Applications contains six papers selected from the conference Mathematical Education of Engineers held at Loughborough University during April 2008. This Conference was the first time that combined existing UK and European forums for the exchange of experiences, ideas and practices in the mathematical education of engineering students. Correspondingly the Conference corresponds to the Sixth IMA Conference, all to date centred at Loughborough University, and the 14th Seminar/Conference supported by the Mathematics Working Group of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI) organised biannually within a succession of University locations throughout Europe.
