Some functions are odd, some are even, but what about functions that are neither? For those functions, an evenodd coefficient is created to measure the degree of evenness or oddness. With this coefficient, any function now has a place somewhere along the spectrum from even to odd. In addition to that novelty, such a characterization is useful in the design of certain electrical circuits in which odd or even harmonics are desired.
