Comprensión del concepto del límite de una función algebráica con estudiantes de bachillerato mediante GeoGebra

    El objetivo de esta investigación fue caracterizar la comprensión de estudiantes de tercer semestre de bachillerato general sobre el concepto y cálculo del límite de una función algebraica al utilizar los registros semióticos como la tabla, la gráfica y la expresión algebraica mediante el software de GeoGebra. El estudio tuvo un corte cualitativo (Eisner, 1998), enfoque etnográfico, cuya técnica fue la observación participante (Woods, 1987). Se utilizó el software libre de GeoGebra para calcular el área de polígonos regulares construidos de forma inscrita en circunferencias con radio constante. La movilización de los conocimientos previos del grupo estudiantil permitió el desarrollo de habilidades matemáticas como la generalización, la visualización y la imaginación espacial. El uso de GeoGebra para las distintas representaciones de los objetos matemáticos permitió que los estudiantes pudieran darles cierto sentido a los procedimientos algebraicos e incluso, que pudieran generalizar los tres tipos de casos que se pueden presentar al calcular el límite del cociente de dos funciones algebraicas cuando el valor de la variable independiente tiende a infinito.

    The objective of this research was to characterize third-semester high school students' understanding of the concept and calculation of the limit of an algebraic function using semiotic registers such as tables, graphs, and algebraic expressions using GeoGebra software. The study had a qualitative approach (Eisner, 1998) and an ethnographic approach, using participant observation as a technique (Woods, 1987). The free GeoGebra software was used to calculate the area of regular polygons constructed inscribed in circles with constant radius. The mobilization of the students' prior knowledge allowed for the development of mathematical skills such as generalization, visualization, and spatial imagination. The use of GeoGebra for the different representations of mathematical objects allowed students to give some meaning to algebraic procedures and even to generalize the three types of cases that can arise when calculating the limit of the quotient of two algebraic functions when the value of the independent variable tends to infinity.
