Resumen de "De la esleçión del ayre conveniente a la natura e hedat del sennor [...]": el aire en los consejos de salud de Estéfano de Sevilla destinados a Pedro (de Toledo), arzobispo de Sevilla (Ca. 1381)

Hacia el año 1381 Estéfano, médico al servicio del arzobispo de Sevilla Pedro de Toledo (en numerosas ocasiones identificado como Pedro Gómez Barroso), escribió el tratado titulado Libro de visitaçione e conssiliaçione medicorum. La obra, redactada en castellano (solo el título está escrito en latín) y que se conserva incompleta, contiene cuatro “consiliatorios” destinados a tratar la salud del aludido arzobispo. En esta aportación se estudia el primer “consiliatorio” de la primera parte del libro −esta parte es en realidad un regimen sanitatis− que trata sobre el aire apropiado para mantener la salud de un personaje perteneciente a las élites eclesiásticas de finales del siglo XIV.

Around the year 1381 Estéfano, a doctor in the service of the archbishop of Seville Pedro de Toledo (on numerous occasions identified as Pedro Gómez Barroso), wrote the treatise entitled Libro de visitaçione e conssiliaçione medicorum. The work, written in Castilian (only the title is in Latin), and which has survived incomplete, contains four “consiliatorios” for the treatment of the archbishop’s health. This article studies the first “consiliatorio” in part one of the book −in actual fact a regimen sanitatis− which deals with the air that is suitable for maintaining the health of a figure who belongs to the ecclesiastical elites of the late fourteenth century.
