    • The European Commission has highlighted as an example of good practice the process ofurban and energy rehabilitation promoted in the Poblado Dirigido de Orcasitas (Madrid), pointingout the role of Spain as a driving force on building renovation. This work studies the feasibility ofbuilding renovation of the district with low environmental impact materials. Specifically, the use ofrecycled wood paneling as building envelope insulation material. From a Life Cycle Analysis pointof view, an energy, environmental and economic analysis is performed, highlighting the strengthsand weaknesses of the use of wood as an alternative to conventional insulating materials.
