    • TheInternational Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) in Barcelona has developed a nite numerical model for coupled thermo-mechanical problems, focusing in the simulation of solidi cation processes of industrial metal parts. This model will be used for the simulation of heat treatment processes. As a rst step, the microstructural process of the problem has to be examined. To apply the model to the problem, the microscopic characteristics have to be expressed by the macro-characteristics material properties. Then di erent examples are examined for several variations on the application to get information about the material behaviour.
