  • Resumen
    • In this work the implicit Fourier transform (ImFT) is used to carry out dynamic analysis of structural systems in the frequency domain. In this method direct and inverse discrete Fourier transform algorithms are solved implicitly through one matrix operation. In the first example studied here it is carried out a comparison between the standard fast Fourier transform (FFT) and the ImFT algorithms, for a one-degree-of-freedom system. The second example studied here has three DOF, thus the analysis is carried out using modal coordinates. This three DOF structural system has non-proportional damping, thus the pseudo-force method is used together with the ImFT algorithm to find numerical solutions.
