    Se diseña y desarrolla un software educativo para apoyar el proceso de aprendizaje de la lectura inicial, basado en los conocimientos actuales sobre enseñanza de la lectoescritura y en el modelo de Sistemas lnstruccionales Inteligentes. El Software desarrollado se evaluó en una muestra de 8 niños de 1° básico de una escuela municipal de Santiago de Chile, identificados por la profesora como presentando algún grado de retraso lector. Se evaluaron los siguientes aspectos: clruidad de las instrucciones, utilidad de los refuerzos y ayudas, sensibilidad al nivel de desempeño del niño y potencial como herramienta instruccional
