We present an algorithm to compute the symmetries of a ruled surface, defined by means of a rational parametrization. The algorithm proceeds by reducing the problem to the parameter space, taking advantage of the fact that any symmetry of the surface corresponds to a birational transformation in the parameter space whose structure can be predicted.
