Estudio de hábitos del alumnado en el uso de las guías docentes de asignaturas universitarias

    Las Guías Docentes, en el contexto de la enseñanza universitaria son una poderosa herramienta para organizar el marco, los objetivos, las herramientas, actividades y el programa de cada asignatura. Su utilidad está fuera de toda duda en el plano administrativo, y también resulta útil para el profesorado y el alumnado. En este estudio planteamos que el estudiante, sin embargo, podría verse beneficiado de una guía docente mucho más orientada a los procesos de aprendizaje y evaluación, tal y como los percibe el alumnado.

    Con esta finalidad, hemos diseñado una encuesta donde tratamos de reunir datos sobre los hábitos de uso y consulta de dichas guías por los alumnos. También tratamos de obtener pistas sobre cómo preparar un nuevo tipo de documento, dado en llamar «Guía del Alumno», que transmita mejor la información que el alumno necesita. Los resultados preliminares de esta encuesta, difundida a nivel general en nuestra universidad, indican que dichas guías podrían ser un mecanismo de comunicación mucho más útil y claro para la difusión de la información a los estudiantes.

    Teaching guides, in the context of the university education, are a powerful tool for organizing the framework, objectives tools, and syllabus of each course. Its usefulness is beyond any doubt at the administrative level, and it is also useful for teachers and students. In this study, we propose that the student, however, could benefit from a teaching guide much more oriented to procedures and evaluation processes as students perceive them.

    With this objective, we have designed a survey intended to collect data on the habits of use and consultation of these guides by students. The preliminary results from this survey, that has been released to general level in our university, indicate that these guides could be much a more useful and clear communication mechanism for the dissemination of information to students.
