Here we give a proof of the Tychonoff's example of a regular space, R, which is not completely regular. The ideas used in this demostration have allowed us to obtain negative results of C*-embed-ding (theorem 2) and to find a subspace of R,R*, whose Alexandroff's compactification, R*, has the propriety that C(R) = C(R*) (theorem 3). This theorem has permited us to characterize the pairs of points and closed sets that are not completely separated in the regular space R (corollary 2-3)
