On his journey to the equinoctial regions (1799) Humboldt landed by mistake on the island of La Graciosa. A story that relates Humboldt with the L’Abbe Prévost creator of Manon Lescaut, a character who inspired an opera by Puccini, as well as being the editor of the most important travel book of the eighteenth century.
