      Resumen: En este artículo se ha evaluado la respuesta transitoria y la capacidad de los parques eólicos de velocidad fija equipados con dispositivos electrónicos denominados STATCOM (Compensador Estático Síncrono) en mantener la continuidad de suministro ante huecos de tensión trifásicos. El objetivo de estos estudios es comprobar el efecto de los STATCOM en la capacidad de las turbinas y parques eólicos en cumplir los cada vez más exigentes requisitosde conexión de los operadores del sistema eléctrico.

      Abstract: In this paper has been evaluated the transient response and the ability of fixed wind turbines equipped with FACTS device named STATCOM (Static Sync hronous Compensator) to maintain the continuity of supply against a three-phase voltage sags. The aim of these studies is to verify the effect of STATCOM in the ability of wind turbines and wind farms to fulfill the more demanding grid connection requireme nts of power systems operators.
