Resumen de Razonamiento probabilístico de estudiantes de bachillerato en la interpretación de noticias

  Se analiza el razonamiento probabilístico de 76 estudiantes de Bachillerato al interpretar unanoticia tomada de los medios de comunicación, a partir de la cual se plantean seis preguntas queimplican el cálculo o estimación de probabilidades condicionadas y la lectura crítica de lainformación presentada. Los resultados reflejan que los estudiantes calculan correctamente laprobabilidad simple y la del suceso complementario, y muchos usan su conocimiento del contextopara dar respuesta a las preguntas, pero parte confunde una probabilidad condicionada con sutranspuesta. Otros muestran dificultad para discriminar el condicionamiento y la causalidad, ypara llegar a un nivel de lectura crítica de la información; finalmente, pocos son capaces deidentificar la información faltante en la tarea.

  The probabilistic reasoning of 76 high school students is analyzed when interpreting news takenfrom the media, from which six questions are posed that involve the calculation or estimation ofconditional probabilities and the critical reading of the information presented. The results showthat the students correctly calculate the simple probability and the probability of thecomplementary event, and many use their knowledge of the context to answer the questions, but apart of them confuse a conditional probability with its transposed. Others show difficulty indiscriminating conditioning and causality, and reaching a level of critical reading of theinformation, finally few are able to identify the missing information in the task.
