La actividad de enviar carga al espacio es muy costosa debido a factores como la energía involucrada, la cantidad de propelente necesario, la velocidad, altitud y empuje requeridos. Por lo tanto se analiza la ventaja en el cambio de velocidad que genera un cohete de 2 etapas usando la ecuación básica de la cohetería, la energía mecánica involucrada en una órbita y la relación entre el periodo y la velocidad circular. The activity of sending cargo to space is very expensive due to factors such as the energy involved, the amount ofpropellant needed, speed, altitude and thrust. Therefore, the advantage in the change of speed generated by a 2-stagerocket is analyzed using the ideal rocket equation, the mechanical energy involved in an orbit and the relationshipbetween the period and the circular velocity. Finally, the importance of the thrust-to- weight ratio in rocketry and itsrelation to the flight.
