    En este artículo se muestran algunos ejemplos de la repercusión que una serie de cómic de prensa como Terry y los piratas tenía en las noticias de ámbito general durante los años en que su creador, Milton Caniff, estuvo al frente de la misma. Este estudio es un ejemplo de como las tiras de prensa se salían, gracias a su impacto popular, del espacio que los periódicos le destinaban para la publicación de su propia historia e invadían el espacio destinado a otro tipo de noticias.

    This paper shows some examples of the repercussion that a series of newspaper comics like Terry and the pirates had in the news of general scope during the years in which its creator, Milton Caniff, was the responsible of it. This study is an example of how comic strips, due to their popular impact, came out of the space that newspapers used to publish their own story and invaded the space destined to other kind of news.
