Aplicación y tendencias de los juegos serios como herramienta didáctica para la sostenibilidad

      Es necesario explorar formas innovadoras para que la sociedad tenga conciencia del futuro del planeta. Uno de esos instrumentos educativos son los juegos serios. Su objetivo fundamental es ofrecer conocimientos sobre el impacto social y medio ambiental de la actividad humana, y favorecer la aplicación y toma de decisiones enmarcadas en criterios económicos, ambientales y sociales.

      Este artículo revisa la literatura reciente sobre juegos serios para la sostenibilidad, propone una nueva dimensión en la taxonomía para la clasificación de los juegos serios, muestra ejemplos de juegos serios para concienciar sobre diferentes objetivos del desarrollo sostenible, y realiza un diagnóstico de la situación actual proponiendo las líneas de investigación futuras para los académicos y los desarrolladores.

      It is necessary to explore innovative ways for society to be aware of the future of the planet. One of those educational instruments is serious games. Its fundamental objective is to offer knowledge about the social and environmental impact of human activity, and to favor the application and decision making framed in economic, environmental and social criteria.

      This article reviews the recent literature on serious games for sustainability, proposes a new dimension in the taxonomy for the classification of serious games, shows examples of serious games to raise awareness about different objectives of sustainable development, and makes a diagnosis of the current situation proposing future research lines for academics and developers.
