    Sobre la relación entre poesía y matemáticas ya se ha escrito algunas veces, sin ir más lejos en el magnífico artículo de Diego Reche y Diego Alonso en el anterior número de este boletín; y, por otra parte, también son nu- merosos los estudios que tratan sobre la relación entre las matemáticas y la música, resultados que se remontan al mismo Pitágoras. Ahora bien, lo que no abundan son las publicaciones que relacionen nuestra disciplina con las le- tras de las canciones, que sería la otra pata del taburete, así que vamos a intentar profundizar, siquiera un poco, en este terreno.

    El tema se puede abordar desde muchas perspectivas distintas, por ejemplo canciones con letra y música compuestas ad hoc, o por ejemplo canciones comerciales coti- dianas que contienen alguna —o muchas— referencia a las matemáticas, o también veremos canciones ya famosas con la letra «algo» cambiada para convertirlas en manuales de resolver ecuaciones o calcular derivadas.

    The relationship between poetry and mathematics has already been written a few times, without going any further in the magnificent article by Diego Reche and Diego Alonso in the previous issue of this newsletter; On the other hand, there are also numerous studies that deal with the relationship between mathematics and music, results that go back to Pythagoras himself. Now, what is not abundant are the publications that relate our discipline with the lyrics of the songs, which would be the other leg of the stool, so we are going to try to delve, even a little, into this field.

    The subject can be approached from many different perspectives, for example songs with lyrics and music composed ad hoc, or for example everyday commercial songs that contain some - or many - references to mathematics, or we will also see already famous songs with the lyrics "Something" changed to become manuals for solving equations or calculating derivatives.
