    El pasado 12 de mayo de 2016 se celebró, en la localidad de Pozo Al- cón (Jaén), la decimosexta edición de las Olimpiadas Matemáticas que organiza el IES Guadalentín.

    La historia de la Olimpiada Matemática se inició en el curso 2000-2001 como una actividad interna dentro de las jornadas culturales que desarrollaba el centro. La experiencia resultó tan sa- tisfactoria para el alumnado y el profesorado que se decidió invitar a otros centros de las localidades de alrededor para las sucesivas ediciones. Con el paso del tiempo se han convertido en unas olimpiadas donde ya este año han contado con la participación de 105 centros y un total de 580 alumnos de las provincias de Almería, Granada, Córdoba, Jaén y Madrid.

    On May 12, 2016, the sixteenth edition of the Mathematical Olympiads organized by the IES Guadalentín was held in the town of Pozo Alcón (Jaén).

    The history of the Mathematical Olympiad began in the academic year 2000-2001 as an internal activity within the cultural days that the center developed. The experience was so satisfactory for the students and the teachers that it was decided to invite other centers in the towns around for successive editions. With the passage of time they have become an Olympics where already this year they have had the participation of 105 centers and a total of 580 students from the provinces of Almería, Granada, Córdoba, Jaén and Madrid.
