Resumen de Cultura y matemáticas: Poesía y matemáticas

  Si en un matraz se vierten esencias de un profesor de Matemáticas que toca el acordeón, y un chorrito bien colmado de un profesor de Lengua y Literatura obsesionado con el verso, y se agita todo hasta mezclarse bien, se obtiene un nuevo producto de sabor agradable que alegra el cuerpo y la mente. Se lo dimos a probar —gratis— a profesores y alumnos de distintos centros de Secundaria de la provincia de Almería y parece que gustó.

  Nos estamos refiriendo a la actividad que hemos llamado «Poemas de andar por clase», una especie de recital poético itinerante de poemas compuestos unos por Diego Reche y otros por Diego Alonso, con un contenido desenfadado y cercano a la realidad del aula, que refleja situaciones con las que se pueden identificar fácilmente los asistentes.

  Porque la poesía puede estar en los grandes temas como el amor, la muerte, el paso del tiempo,... y también por qué no, en una zapatilla, o en el número cero, o en , o en el fútbol, o en la ortografía, o en un viaje de estudios, y hasta si nos apuran en los libros de historia de la literatura. Y, de paso, ese material vimos que servía para apoyar, insistir, recordar, algunos de los conceptos que se enseñaban en distintas asignaturas.

  En concreto, en el caso de las Matemáticas, el poema «Oda al número » proporcionaba un contexto adecuado para recordar algunas de sus propiedades más importantes. Análogamente sucedía con el poema «Así amaba Fibonacci», donde simultáneamente a la lectura del poema se presentaba la famosa sucesión de Fibonacci y se destacaban sus propiedades y su relación con la llamada «divina proporción» y el número áureo, o el poema «Como tú», en el que se exponían algunas características del número cero, entre otros.

  We are referring to the activity that we have called «Poemas de andar por clases», a kind of itinerant poetic recital of poems composed some by Diego Reche and others by Diego Alonso, with a casual content close to the reality of the classroom, reflecting situations with which attendees can be easily identified.

  Because poetry can be in the great themes such as love, death, the passage of time, ... and also why not, in a shoe, or in number zero, or in, or in football, or in the spelling, or in a study trip, and even if they rush us in the history books of literature. And, incidentally, we saw that material served to support, insist, remember, some of the concepts taught in different subjects.

  Specifically, in the case of Mathematics, the poem "Ode to Number" provided an adequate context to recall some of its most important properties. Analogously it happened with the poem "Thus I loved Fibonacci", where simultaneously to the reading of the poem the famous Fibonacci sequence was presented and its properties and its relation with the so-called "divine proportion" and the golden number, or the poem "As you ”, in which some characteristics of the number zero were exposed, among others.
