  • Resumen
    • Although representation plays an outstanding role on the efficiency of problem solving methods, the difficulty of selecting an appropiate representation has traditionally prevented computer problem solvers from performing automatically this task. Some efforts have been made for automatically finding a suitable representation before the actual resolution of the problem, but the fact that no further representation changes take place once the resolution process has been started reduces the possibility to work with a suitable representation. This paper deals with a technique for changing representation while problem solving by making use of specific procedures which assign and modify a certain relevance value to every attribute involved in the problem representation, on behalf of their respective importance so as to actually solve the problem. This technique allows adapting representation to the peculliarities of each problem while the actual problem solving process takes place.
