This paper presents the teaching methodology which has been applied in a first level module to teach computer science concepts to undergraduate students in a different area. The method combines a series of teaching and learning strategies to motivate students at the same time as transferrable skills related to communication, teamwork, self learning and critical thinking are developed. Results show that student drop rates have significantly decreased and academic results have improved.
