The problem consisting of the simplest decomposition of an opposite similarity in the 3D Euclidean space is adressed in this paper. It is shown that this problem has two different solutions that are connected between them. Methods of synthetic geometry are used for discovering those solutions. Finally, methods of elementary analytic geometry with matricial calculus are used for solving concrete examples in a brief way.
