• The authors are to be highly commended for providing a succinct summary of key research using continuous approximation (CA) modeling for freight distribution problems. As the authors make clear, this is not a comprehensive literature survey, but rather an “overview of the most important results and their applications”. This is a very welcome paper that helps bring attention to an underappreciated modeling paradigm.
