  Al efecto de sacar a relucir la labor de grandes mujeres cuyo trabajo ha podido verse ensombrecido por razones de género, esta comunicación va dedicada a destacar la biografía de la matemática Olga Taussky-Todd, quien tuvo que hacer frente a dos de los problemas más importantes de su tiempo: la discriminación por razones de género y de raza. Su origen judío la llevó a tener que abandonar su tierra muy joven por motivos políticos, mientras que el hecho de ser mujer le dificultó el avance en su vida académica. Se doctoró en la Universidad de Viena y trabajó en diferentes lugares de Europa. En uno de sus trabajos conoció al que sería su marido y uno de sus apoyos tanto a nivel personal como profesional: el matemático John Todd. En esta comunicación se detalla su labor, así como datos biográficos y autobiográficos que muestran la relevancia de esta matemática.

  To highlight the life and career of great women whose work may have been overshadowed because of gender reasons, the aim of this communication is to remark the biography of the mathematician Olga Taussky-Todd, who faced two of the most important problems of her time: discrimination based on gender and race. Her Jewish origin forced her to abandon her land at a young age for political reasons, whereas the fact of being a woman difficulted the progress of her career. She received a doctorate from the University of Vienna and worked in different places in Europe. At one of these works, she met the man who was to be her husband and one of her biggest supports both in a personal and an academic way: the mathematician John Todd. In this communication, we detail her labour, as well as some biographical and autobiographical facts that show the importance of this mathematician
