This paper evaluates the changes experienced by Garda-Rodríguez's work entitled “Elementos de Aritmética, Algebra y Geometría”. We focused on the historical introduction of the above-mentioned work. Both, quantitative and qualitative computer-based analyses of the historical introduction have been performed. It is concluded that Garda-Rodríguez work shows a strong pedagogic component, higher than that showed by other mathematical publications from the 18th century.
