In this paper the so-called "geometric algebra" is analyzed from Helenistic Greece to medieval Arabic mathematician Ommar Khayyam, taking as starting point Ivor Grattan-Guinness' historiographical perspective and a twofold approach from the quantitational and the equational points of view.
