Resumen de La Matemática en la Junt para Ampliación de Estudios e Investigaciones Científicas

At the beginning of 20th century, universities in Spain were not able to give Society the necessary scientific and cultural regeneration needed after 1898 "disaster". Once institutionalized Spanish mathematics activities through the Sociedad Matemática Española (1911), original mathematical research and teaching innovation found their place at the Junta para Ampliaci6n de Estudios. This institution, whose first centenary is being celebrated during 2007, gave birth in 1915 to what was to be known as the Laboratorio Seminario Matemático, the first mathematical centre in our country.
