In statistics applications, there are many situations where standard random variables distributions with an infinity interval of variation can not be applied because possible values are not realistic. In this case, it is more accurately to consider a truncation of the interval. In this article we study the main characteristics of a Gaussian distribution. Several illustrative examples are included. Finally, a procedure in order to simulate this class of random variables is also provided.
