La Lluna, l’astre més proper a la Terra i el seu únic satèl·lit natural, ha estat objecte permanent de l’atenció humana, des d’uns inicis on era objecte de culte fins al moment present, en què s’estudia seriosament la possibilitat de instal·lar-hi una base permanent. En aquest treball fem un repàs dels inicis del seu coneixement científic, centrant-nos en l’estudi del coneixement de la seva posició, des dels temps prehistòrics, passant per les aportacions fonamentals de la cultura mesopotàmica i grega i seguint històricament fins al present.

The Moon, the Earth nearest celestial corps and its unique natural satellite, has been object of continuous attention from the human being; from initial object of religious veneration to the present, when installation of a permanent settlement on is discussed. We devote the present study to review the knowledge of the Moon position in the sky, from observational and theoretical point of view, starting with the first prehistoric attempts, following with the progresses of the Mesopotamian and Greek cultures and sketching its evolution up to the present.
