Nociones y compromiso con los derechos humanos en estudiantes de Trabajo social en España

    Resumen: Este artículo expone los resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo fue identificar el nivel de conocimientos y compromiso con los derechos humanos del alumnado que inicia los estudios de grado en Trabajo social en tres regiones de España (Madrid, Castilla-la Mancha y Murcia). El estudio fue de tipo exploratorio y descriptivo; se utilizó un cuestionario compuesto por las escalas Nociones sobre Derechos Humanos en Trabajo Social y Compromiso con los Derechos Humanos en Trabajo Social, previamente validadas. Para el análisis se utilizaron métodos estadísticos descriptivos e inferenciales. Pese a las diferencias en el perfil del alumnado de las tres universidades, todos los grupos coinciden en tener escasas nociones sobre derechos humanos, en sus elevadas expectativas sobre su aprendizaje y en su grado de compromiso con los mismos. Se discuten las implicaciones de estos resultados para la investigación sobre educación en derechos humanos en Trabajo social y para optimizar los programas educativos en esta materia.

    Abstract: This article describes the results of research aimed at identifying the level of knowledge and commitment to human rights among first-semester students of social work in three regions of Spain (Madrid, Castile/La Mancha, and Murcia). The study was of an exploratory and descriptive nature, using a questionnaire based on previously validated scales of Notions of Human Rights in Social Work, and Commitment to Human Rights in Social Work. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used for analysis. In spite of the differences in student profiles in the three universities, all groups coincide in having few notions of human rights, in their elevated expectations regarding learning, and in their degree of commitment to learning. The implications of these results are discussed in terms of educational research on human rights in social work, in order to optimize educational programs in the area.
