      El fin último de la universidad es ser útil para la sociedad. Esto le obliga a estar en continuo cambio y adaptarse a las necesidades de la empresa sin dejar de lado el perfil y los intereses del alumnado universitario1. Por otro lado, excesivos cambios provocan inestabilidad. A modo de ejemplo, la carrera de ADE, en los últimos cuarenta años ha pasado por cuatro planes diferentes, y ahora se pretende que sea un grado de 3 años.El objetivo de este artículo es recapacitar sobre las mejoras que se pueden realizar en la metodología aplicada a la enseñanza de la estadística en primer curso teniendo en cuenta, por un lado, la opinión del propio estudiante en cuanto a la dificultad de la asignatura, el bagaje de conocimiento, las nuevas herramientas tecnológicas y por otro, la expectativa de utilidad de la materia impartida para su desarrollo profesional.

      Para determinar los cambios que se podrían introducir en la programación de la estadística para el curso 2015/16 se realiza un estudio cuantitativo de los alumnos que cursan primero de ADE en la universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid en el que a partir de un cuestionario se analizará la opinión del estudiante.

      On the one hand, a University should have the goal to achieve the maximum utility for the society. This implies that it has to be continuously changing and adapting their subjects to enterprises necessities taking also into account the main interests and goals of the students. On the other hand, an excessive amount of changes produces instability, e.g.. Business Administration degree has suffered four plan changes in the past 40 years, and now it is wanted to be a three-year degree.

      The main goal of the article is to think about improvements to be done in the methodology applied to teach statistics in the first year form, taking into account, on the one hand, the students opinion about the difficulty of the subject, the previous knowledge needed, the new technology tools and, on the other hand, the expected professional utility of the subject of statistics.

      To determine changes that could be done for the next academic year 2015/16 the quantitative study has been run to first year San Pablo CEU business administration students to find out their opinion across an online survey.
