  Mucha gente, no matemática, parece pensar que lo esencial en matemáticas fue descubierto hace mucho tiempo y que fue entregado a los primeros matemáticos griegos por semidivinidades como Pitágoras, en forma de teoremas misteriosos que hemos aprendido a usar pero sin comprenderlos verdaderamente. Nada más lejos de la realidad, los matemáticos profesionales no aceptan resultados sin pruebas rigurosas y por otra parte, son conscientes de que aún hay mucho camino por recorrer, de que sólo se ha explorado una parte y que ésta crece sin cesar.

  Much people, nonmathematical, seem to think that the essential in mathematics was discovered long ago and that was given to the first Greek mathematicians by semidivinities like Pitágoras, about form of mysterious theorems that we have learned to use but without including/understanding them truely. Nothing else far from the reality, the professional mathematicians do not accept results without rigorous tests and on the other hand, are conscious that still there is much way to cross, that has only explored a part and that this grows incessa.
