Alan Turing was one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century. He made fundamental contributions to the theory of computation, artificial intelligence, cryptography, mathematical biology and pure mathematics. He can be seen as the primary founder of the modern discipline of computer science. In this year, the centenary of his birth, this paper revises his life and the main lines of Turing´s mathematic early work.
