• The present article is intended to celebrate the Centennial of the solar eclipse of April 17, 1912. It includes a discussion of the state of Spanish Astronomy and the important events that enriched it at the beginning of the XX century, as well as associated astronomic phenomena. Reference is made to the precedents of this resurgence some years earlier when structural changes began to occur (in many cases, thanks to personal iniciatives) that contributed important benefits for Spanish science, in general, and Spanish Astronomy, in particular
