El trabajo algebraico escolar constituye una problemática de interés abordada desde distintas perspectivas teóricas. Cuestionamos su introducción habitual mediante la resolución de ecuaciones porque ocasiona una pérdida de sentido. Planteamos la necesidad de diseñar alternativas para iniciar a los estudiantes en este dominio de la matemática.
En este artículo presentamos una propuesta de enseñanza destinada a alumnos de 11 a 12 años, en la que el lenguaje algebraico surge como herramienta necesaria para poder resolver la situación. Se promueve la generación de conjeturas y validaciones, el uso de diferentes registros de representación y la construcción del sentido del trabajo algebraico.

The algebraic school work constitutes a problematic of interest approached from different theoretical perspectives. We question its habitual introduction by means of the resolution of equations because it causes a loss of sense. We raise the need to design alternatives to initiate the students in this domain of the mathematics.
In this article let’s sense beforehand an offer of education destined for pupils of 11/12 years, in that the algebraic language arises as tool necessary to be able to solve the situation. There is promoted the generation of conjectures and validations, the use of different records of representation and the construction of the sense of the algebraic work.
