• We obtain a refinement of a result of Partington on Banach spaces containing isomorphic copies of $\ell^\infty$. Motivated by this result, we prove that Banach spaces containing asymptotically isometric copies of $\ell^\infty$ must contain isometric copies of $\ell^\infty$.
