Resumen de Estudio exploratorio de las actitudes hacia la estadística en estudiantes de bachillerato

  En los últimos tiempos ha sido reconocida la importancia de los aspectos afectivos en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la Estadística. Se presenta un estudio exploratorio que forma parte de una investigación más amplia con el objeto de analizar las actitudes hacia la Estadística que tienen estudiantes mexicanos de bachillerato de dos sistemas educativos distintos. Con este fin, se ha aplicado la Escala de Actitudes hacia la Estadística EAEE a 277 estudiantes del CCH-UNAM, siendo en éste una materia optativa. Se observa que estos estudiantes reconocen la importancia y utilidad de la Estadística en su área de estudios y en la vida diaria, y que en estos centros escolares son las mujeres quienes prefieren estudiarla. La falta de estudios previos de Estadística se está considerando como un elemento que determine una actitud favorable o desfavorable.

  In recent times the importance of affective aspects in the teaching and learning of statistics has been well acknowledged. An exploratory study, which is part of a wider investigation in order to analyze the attitudes towards statistics with Mexican high school students from two different educational systems, is presented. To this goal, we have applied the Scale of Attitudes Toward Statistics EAEE to 277 students from CCH-UNAM, in that statistics is an elective. The students accept the importance and usefulness of statistics in their field of study and daily life; the female students are those who prefer to study this subject. The lack of previous statistical studies is being considered as an element that determines a favorable or unfavorable attitude.
