  • This article explores two problems whose solutions involve the number 3: maximizing the product of natural numbers that sum to n and comparing xy and yx. It extends problems and explains how properties of e relate to the solutions. Topics include logarithms, exponents, parametric equations, max-min problems, and history of mathematics.
