  • The main goal in the research presented in this document is to solve the Time Tabling Problem in Universities (TTPU) in the Polytechnic University of Victoria. In particular, it is solved the case where a daily assignment must be done, pursuing the minimization in the number of used classrooms, and the idle hours for students, and teachers. The work presented in this paper shows the solution of the problem through the Simulated Annealing meta-heuristic. An analysis of the performance of the Simulated Annealing when solving the problem TTPU shows that the process that takes several hours, even days, could be done in just a few minutes with the proposed technique.
