    El circuito que a continuación se presenta implementa una sección del modelo de la cóclea humana. En su conjunto, el modelo tratado divide a la cóclea en seis secciones idénticas. En cada una de estas secciones se estudia el tratamiento de la onda sonora, obteniéndose el comportamiento de la cóclea. De dicho estudio se obtienen las ecuaciones del modelo. La finalidad del chip es implementar estas ecuaciones. Para realizar todas las operaciones necesarias, la unidad de cálculo del chip tiene la posibilidad de realizar multiplicaciones y sumas, así como transferencias ente registros y memoria.

    The circuit which is presented in this article implements a section of the model of the human cochlea. Overall, the treated model divides the cochlea in six identical sections. In each of these sections, the treatment of the acoustic wave is studied, obtaining the behavior of the cochlea. From this study, equations for the model are obtained. The goal of the chip is to implement these equations. In order to implement all the required operations, the arithmetic unit of the chip is able to perform multiplications and additions as well as transfers between registers and memory.
