Resumen de Taller de matemáticas a la luz de las estrellas

  celebración durante 2009 del Año Internacional de la Astronomía. Primer año, por cierto, que no se puede impartir Astronomía como asignatura optativa en Enseñanza Secundaria, cosa que venía haciéndose en nuestro instituto desde 1991.

  Mediante esta aportación queremos animar al profesorado de los niveles mencionados a practicar astronomía nocturna con sus alumnos, lo que ayudará a desarrollar en ellos actitudes, como la curiosidad por realizar mediciones teniendo a los astros como protagonistas. El fuerte componente lúdico que posee la contemplación del firmamento desde las cumbres canarias les ayudará a afianzar determinados conceptos matemáticos básicos, a través de ese laboratorio natural, cambiante y gratuito que es la bóveda celeste.

  This article tries to collaborate with the magazine Números on the celebration in 2009 of the International Astronomy Year. By the way, in fact, this will be the first year, since 1991 when our school first offered it in the Canaries, Astronomy can�t be studied as an optional subject in our High School, as it used to be.

  Our contribution pretends to encourage teachers and other members of the school stuff in making nocturnal observations with students. The observation of the sky from the Canarian summits can be a recreational activity that helps students to fix basic Mathematics knowledge, through this changeable and absolutely free and natural laboratory and at the same time, help them develop positive attitudes, such as curiosity about the measurement of the stars.
